About Proto

At Proto we are a design and co-ordination team with an extensive pool of independent consultants, from fields as diverse as Combustion Engineering to Environmental Science.

Started in 2002 after seeing the amazing results achieved overseas with outsource R & D, Proto’s consultants have had striking success in fields as diverse as Lighting, Electronic Design and Engineering, Rapid Prototyping, Pump Design, Gas and Electric Appliance design and more.

Herbal Extract Project

We have undertaken, and are continuing to experiment with various herbs and extracts from Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese medicine, with a view to developing a range of harm minimisation products.

 

Gas Pool Heater

Following on from the extremely successful “Bosch Leisure” Spa Gas Heater range is the gas Pool Heater range.

Two sizes are under development, 250 MJ and 400 MJ. These will cater for most backyard pool situations, because as backyards become smaller and smaller so do the pools.

Smaller “Courtyard” pools and larger “Swim Spas” are becoming increasingly popular as size, purchase and running cost change demand from the older tastes of 50, 000+ litres pools with little or no facilities, to 10-20,000 pools with heating, multiple jet configurations, air systems, 2 and 3 pumps and digital controls.

Heat up and recovery times are much faster with gas heating per installation dollar than any other comparable method, and running costs are second only to solar heating, but of course considerably more consistent and reliable.

The two heaters under development are designed to cater for the “shrinking back yard” and have small very “footprints”, and can even be wall mounted if required. They will in fact be the only pool heaters available anywhere in the world of their size and heating capacity, capable of being wall mounted.
